Loire Valley holiday rental in France near Saumur.On the edge of the riverside village of Parnay, in the heart of the Loire Valley, La Mimardière is a modern chalet style house with ample space for a relaxing family holiday. The village has good restaurants and a boulangerie and is ideally placed on the south bank of the River Loire, about 6 km east of Saumur.

The heart of the house is the lounge/dining room with a comfortable 3 piece suite and coffee table in the living area and a large oak table and eight chairs to enjoy that family meal in the dining area (there is also a baby high-chair should it be required). These rooms have a southern aspect, with French doors overlooking the patio, the enclosed garden and, beyond the hedge, the vines and corn fields.
There is a CD/stereo and tv/video (with about 50 videos to suit most tastes) and DVD player in the living room. Off the dining room is a very well equipped kitchen with all the usual equipment including fridge/freezer, gas hob/electric oven, microwave and dishwasher.
Also on the ground floor, off the entrance hall, is a double bedroom, a bathroom with twin basins and a separate wc. In the bathroom is a washing machine.
Stairs to the upper floor lead to an open area with some separate seating, a stocked bookcase and baby cot. Off this area are two further bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with both a double and a single bed. There is also a shower room with wc and two wash-hand basins.
All three bedrooms have wardrobes and ample space for clothes storage.
In the heart of the Saumur–Champigny wine area, the house is surrounded by vineyards and corn fields and has an enclosed garden – perfect for relaxing while children play in safety, or for just resting and soaking up the sun in the peaceful countryside.
To the east of Parnay is the chateau of Montsoreau, the medieval Abbey of Fontevraud, the historic town of Chinon and the city of Tours as well as the beautiful gardens of Chateau Villandry.
To the south is the modern high-tech theme park of Futuroscope. Many UK airlines fly to the airport at nearby Poitiers.
To the west of Parnay is the chateau town of Saumur, with its shops, hypermarkets and restaurants and the famous Cadre Noir riding school. Further west is Doué la Fontaine (the zoo here is well worth a visit) and the city of Angers with its medieval chateau.
